Qmailtoaster!

Recently I had to fix problems on an existing mail server, that had a really messy configuration. So I resolved to start the whole thing again and used a fantastic script found at http://www.qmailtoaster.com

Installed CentOS 7, downloaded the script and launched, answered a few questions about the MariaDB database configuration, finally entered the email domain.

In 10 minutes I had a fully fledged mail server with spam+virus check running!

Installing Linux Mint 19 on Asus Vivobook Pro

In April this year I purchased this nice notebook.

As soon as it landed on my desk I started Windows 10 and resized the system partition to gain a little space for some serious stuff 🙂 So I gained some 160Gb to play with, not bad

Linux Mint 18.3 installed without problems, very fast and and non memory greedy, useful for daily work (mostly programming stuff in Python/Java)

When LM19 came out I was excited and tried quite a few times to install it but the live system was constantily hanging after a minute or two. I tried helplessy some grub parameters such as ‘nomodeset’ without success, until I found this precious parameter somewhere in the excellent Arch Linux wiki:

nouveau.noaccel=1

Now I’m a happy LM19 user, waiting for the LM Team to enable upgrade in update manager to the brand new LM19.1, that looks even faster and snappier (and supported until 2023)
